Development
of Photopatterned Nanoscale Grafting Systems
This project looks into the nanometer scale photo grafting
techniques that allow for polymer brushed to be grown off a surface using
photopolymerization techniques. Specifically,
thiol-ene systems, due to their A-B reaction path, can be exploited to allow
for chained to a be formed of a uniform discrete length. With patterning
of these surfaces, research is looking towards patterning multiple types of brushes
on a surface, allowing for specific interactions to occur on an even smaller
scale size than previous work.
